The Association was formed in the 1980 as the Western Australian Livestock Transporters Association.  In 2005 the Constitution was changed and Country Bulk Carriers  were invited to join the Association.  In 2010 the name was changed to the Livestock and Rural Transport Association of Western Australia (Inc) to accurately reflect the evolution of our membership base.

The LRTAWA is a not for profit organisation whose primary function is to promote the development and interests of rural livestock transporters, bulk materials carriers, rural truck carrying and the road transport industry in serving Australia’s primary industry.  Animal welfare, safety, productivity and efficiency are key areas of importance.

Representatives of the Association participate in a range of forums and actively work with Government for practical outcomes for the industry.  The Committee comprises members who give their time freely to promote your interests.
