The Association is committed to high standards of animal welfare. We actively promote proper animal welfare accountabilities at each point along the supply chain as this is one of the best ways of ensuring good animal welfare. Where the lines of responsibility are blurred by legislation and other standards there is greater scope for all parties to avoid their obligations. This is not good for the animals. The issue of stock preparation prior to loading is a major source of concern for our members.
